HISTORY

Joe D’Arcy is an award winning filmmaker currently in development of the nine-part TV series, PARC.

His creative life began in theatre during the 90s, where he acted, wrote, produced and directed for stage as well as some TV and large-scale commercials. Alongside this, he trained in Gestalt psychotherapy, and was granted Clinical Accreditation with PACFA and GANZ; a discipline that deepened his understanding of character, conflict and human behaviour.

In the early 2000s he shifted into screenwriting and directing, developing and producing work across short film, doc-drama & music videos, and recently into long-form series. His short, ‘Je suis un Crayon’ (I Am a Pencil), received (AMPAS) Academy Accreditation and his films have screened at Tribeca, Santa Barbara, Raindance, Flickerfest, Manhattan Short while his feature-film scripts have been finalists at the Austin Film Festival, Project Greenlight and the Byron Bay Film Festival.

Today, Joe balances filmmaking with a private practice in psychotherapy, bringing decades of experience to the stories he creates.
